Take Action

Take action on the Millennium Development Goals. Every act of caring translates into kinder communities, more compassionate nations and a better world for all.

Here are some simple ways you can take action at home!

Action of the Week

Poverty

Be a Mentor: Find out if your local elementary school has a mentoring/buddy program you can join. By helping younger kids you lead by example and make a big contribution to your community.

Past Actions

Poverty

School Supplies: Get together with other students and create a package of colorful school supplies for an elementary classroom in need in your town. New crayons, markers and other goodies will help you spread community spirit and reach out as mentors to younger kids.

Education

Library Lending: Call a local library and find out if they accept donations of used books. Organize a book drive with your class.

Health

Malaria Awareness: Malaria is one of the leading causes of death for children in developing countries, but most people don’t know much about it. Research causes of malaria, then give a presentation to your class.

Sustainable Development

Save Water: This week, save water and energy by taking a shorter shower or turning off the tap when you brush your teeth.

More than 70 percent of the world's people have never used a telephone.
