Your Guides I’m Olayinka and this is my best friend Baboo. We’re going to show you around our home, West Africa!

I’m Olayinka (pronounced oh-lah-yeen-kah) and this is my best friend Baboo. We’re from Sierra Leone, a country on the coast of West Africa. We can’t wait to show you around our beautiful home. West Africa is waiting for you!

Together, we’ll discover music and art, taste new foods that are special to our local friends and play traditional games with other West African kids like me.

West Africa’s children are a big inspiration to many because we manage to stay hopeful even though our lives are very hard sometimes.

Most of my friends and neighbors are working hard to make a living for their families each day, but it isn’t easy. West Africa is home to some of the poorest countries in the world.

You can help my friends by taking action to end poverty all over the world. Start by learning all about West Africa, from its ancient past to the challenges people face today.
