Take Action

Take action on the Millennium Development Goals. Every act of caring translates into kinder communities, more compassionate nations and a better world for all.

Here are some simple ways you can take action at home!

Action of the Week

Education

Be a Mentor: Offer to help a teacher of a younger grade at your school during recess one day a week. You’ll make a contribution to younger kids and inspire other students to action.

Past Actions

Poverty

School Supplies: With your classmates, put together a package of colorful school supplies for another classroom in need in your town. New crayons, markers and other goodies will help your class make new friends and spread a positive message of giving.

Education

Library Lending: With help from your teacher or an adult you trust, call a local library and ask if they accept donations of used books. Organize a book drive with your class.

Health

Malaria Awareness: Malaria is one of the leading causes of death for children in developing countries, but most people don’t know much about it. Research causes of malaria, then give a presentation to your class.

Sustainable Development

Save Water: This week, save water and energy by taking a shorter shower, a bath that’s less full or by turning off the tap when you brush your teeth.
