Action of the Week

Poverty

Spare change: Start a coin drive at your school or in your community. Ask people to drop their spare change into a donation jar. Give the proceeds to a local shelter or use them to buy non-perishable food items to donate to a food bank. Then watch as all the nickels and dimes add up to big change!

Past Actions

Poverty

  • School Supplies: Put together a package of colorful school supplies for a classroom in need in your community. New crayons, markers and other goodies are a treat they’ll treasure.

Education

  • Be a mentor: Offer to mentor a young person in your community who is interested in your career path.

Health

  • Malaria Awareness: Malaria is one of the leading causes of death for children in developing countries, but most people don’t know much about it. Learn about the causes of malaria, then raise awareness by sending an e-mail out to your contacts.

Sustainable Development

  • Save Water: This week, conserve water and energy by taking a shorter shower or turning off the tap when you brush your teeth.
