The O Ambassadors program began when Oprah Winfrey and Free The Children’s Craig Kielburger joined forces to create a school-based program to encourage young people to become active global citizens. Now in its second year running, the program is inspiring thousands of youth in North America to make a difference for their peers in developing countries by working toward the UN Millennium Development Goals.

What are the Millennium Development Goals?

The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) focus on four major issues affecting our world today: poverty, education, health and sustainable development. Set for the year 2015, the MDGs are targets agreed upon by world leaders who have all promised to do their part in helping millions of people to break the cycle of poverty. You, too, can do your part to help reach these goals with the O Ambassadors program!

Almost half the world lives on less than $2.50 a day.
